- CPR (all BASIC level CPR courses include adult, child & infant CPR & AED certification) – all CPR certificates are valid for 2 years
- BLS for the HEALTHCARE PROVIDER – American Heart Association certificate valid for 2 years
- Heartsaver AED – American Heart Association certificate valid for 2 years
- First Aid (all courses include basic & pediatric certification) – certificate is valid for 2 years
- Preventive Health Practices – certificate does NOT expire
NOTE: This information is based on our years of training experience and is meant to assist you in deciding which class you need. It is your responsibility to know your requirements and verify that you are taking the correct course. We are not liable for your choosing the incorrect course.
All CPR and First Aid certifications are valid for 2 years. Preventive Practices certification does NOT expire.
All CPR & First Aid courses include adult, child & infant procedures. CPR also includes AED certification.
To qualify for a RENEWAL course, your CPR and / or FIRST AID certificates can NOT be expired and must be turned in at the time of registration or in class.
CURRENTLY LICENSED childcare providers or preschool staff:
Select a “BASIC level” option. You will receive EMSA approved certificates.
Childcare providers GETTING a license:
Select a “BASIC level” option. You will receive EMSA approved certificates.
Elementary School Teachers and Special Education aids:
Select a “BASIC level” option. You will receive the American Heart Association “Heartsaver AED” certificate.
Personal trainers:
Select a “BASIC level” option. You will receive the American Heart Association “Heartsaver AED” certificate.
R.C.F., caregiver, home health, group home, home care, and adult care staff:
Select a “BASIC level” option. You will receive BASIC level certificates.
Security guards:
Select a “BASIC level” option. You will receive BASIC level certificates.
Sports coaches & camp counselors:
Select a “BASIC level” option. You will receive BASIC level certificates.
Bus Drivers / Transportation / Motorcycle Instructors:
Select a “BASIC level” option. You will receive EMSA approved certificates.
Medical staff and/or students (CNA, MA, EMT, DR, LVN, RN, etc.):
Select a “BLS for the Healthcare Provider” option. You will receive the American Heart Association BLS certificate.
Dental staff and / or students:
Select a “BLS for the Healthcare Provider” option. You will receive the American Heart Association BLS certificate.
Harmonium staff:
Select the “Harmonium staff” option. You will receive BASIC level certificates.
Seaside Nanny:
Select the “Seaside Nannies” option. You will receive BASIC level certificates.
Advantage Center staff:
Select the “CHICANO FEDERATION / LMWC / ADV CTR” option. You will receive BASIC level certificates
La Mesa Work Center staff:
Select the “CHICANO FEDERATION / LMWC / ADV CTR” option. You will receive BASIC level certificates
CURRENT Chicano Federation Students (must be currently enrolled in classes):
Select the “CHICANO FEDERATION / LMWC / ADV CTR” option. You will receive EMSA approved certificates.
High School students (discounted rate):
Select the “Harmonium staff / high school / foster parents” option. You will receive BASIC level certificates.
Foster Parents & adoptive parents (discounted rate):
Select the “Harmonium staff / high school / foster parents” option. You will receive BASIC level certificates.
Have YMCA vouchers (must have the vouchers):
Select a “I have YMCA vouchers” option. You will receive EMSA approved certificates.
Other – if you are not on the above list:
Select the “BASIC level” option. You will receive BASIC level certificates.
