ZOOM CLASS RULES

Please be patient in the waiting room while the instructor checks each student in.

WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND AGAINST USING A PHONE FOR THE ZOOM CLASS. Phone calls & notifications will disrupt your connection to class, and may kick you out of the class. Also, cell phones are likely to overheat and turn off. If you MUST use your phone, you will need to turn on your “do not disturb” setting during the class.

 YOU MUST BE ON TIME AND PRESENT FOR BOTH SESSIONS TO RECEIVE YOUR CERTIFICATE.

If you miss either day, you must reschedule the entire class. There are no partial rescheduling options.

 IF YOU ARE NEW TO ZOOM, you can familiarize yourself with the application by starting a meeting. You do not have to invite anyone to your meeting to get familiar with the look and functionality of the application.

ZOOM CLASS RULES – it is your responsibility to understand and comply with these class rules. If you do not understand these rules, or cannot comply with them, please contact us for other options. Students who do not comply with the class rules will be removed from the class and WILL NOT receive their certification, nor any refund.

  1. No late entries! Once the class starts, the instructor will not stop the class to allow late entries.
  2. Please note that any time the instructor has to stop the class to reinforce the meeting rules, it DISRUPTS AND DISRESPECTS your fellow students and instructor.
  3. CLASS MAY BE RECORDED AND IS SUBJECT TO AUDIT BY STATE LICENSING. By joining the class, you agree to being recorded.
  4. Participants’ screen name must match their registration name. You may change your name once you are in the Zoom class.
  5. Maximum of 2 participants per device.
  6. YOUR FACE (not your ceiling, photos, walls, etc.) MUST BE VISIBLE ON VIDEO TO THE INSTRUCTOR at all times. If you are not visible on video, you are not in class and the instructor will REMOVE YOU from the class and you WILL NOT receive your certificate, nor any refund.
  7. YOU MUST RESPOND TO YOUR INSTRUCTOR. If you do not reply to your instructor, you are not in class and the instructor will REMOVE YOU from the class and you WILL NOT receive your certificate, nor any refund.
  8. Because you are visible to all the class participants, you must treat this like an in-person class. Therefore, YOU MAY NOT PARTICIPATE FROM YOUR BED, or any other location deemed inappropriate by the instructor. IF YOU FALL ASLEEP DURING CLASS, YOU WILL BE REMOVED and you WILL NOT receive your certificate, nor any refund.
  9. NO PARTICIPATING WHILE IN A VEHICLE in any capacity during the Zoom class. This could be illegal and the instructor will REMOVE YOU from the class and you WILL NOT receive your certificate, nor any refund.
  10. NO MULTI-TASKING DURING CLASS TIME (no housework, no childcare, no phone calls, no texting, no peripheral conversations, no doing paperwork, etc.). This is a class! The instructor will REMOVE YOU from the class and you WILL NOT receive your certificate. Participants must participate in a quiet area with no distractions, and without distracting others.
  11. CHILDREN ARE NOT ALLOWED ON AUDIO OR VIDEO AT ANY TIME. This violates their privacy and the instructor will REMOVE YOU from the class and you WILL NOT receive your certificate, nor any refund.
  12. YOU MAY NOT LEAVE CLASS while the instructor is teaching. Students who leave while class is in session will be removed from the class and WILL NOT receive their certification, nor any refund.
  13. YOU MUST ALSO RETURN FROM BREAKS ON TIME. If you are late, the instructor will REMOVE YOU from the class and you WILL NOT receive your certificate, nor any refund.
  14. Breaks are given approximately each hour. Plan accordingly. If you have a BRIEF EMERGENCY, please ask the instructor BEFORE you leave.
  15. ENGLISH class is taught in ENGLISH. If you do not speak English, you will need to have a translator present with you, or you will not pass the class.
  16. IF YOU HAVE A TRANSLATOR, they must present with you on the SAME DEVICE and be visible on the video with you, actively translating at all times for the entire class. You will be asked questions throughout class, and are required to participate to receive certification.
  17. We cannot be responsible for technical difficulties. If your device drops your class, you will need to reschedule your training and the rescheduling fee will apply.
  18. Be sure YOUR DEVICE IS PLUGGED IN. If you are dropped from the meeting because you lose power, you will need to reschedule your training and the rescheduling fee will apply.
  19. WE CANNOT MAKE EXCEPTIONS TO THE ABOVE RULES. We must comply with state licensing mandates just like childcare providers must.
  20. Your final certificate will be MAILED TO THE ADDRESS ON YOUR REGISTRATION.
  21. You can reply with your address to confirm we have it correctly – especially if the address is for a BUSINESS, or if there is an APARTMENT NUMBER. Certificate should arrive within 7-10 business days.
